Designer Selection Process
“We selected some of our partners and asked them if they would like to collaborate with us,” says Kate Heritage, VP of Merchandising at TSC. “The idea was for them to design teddy bear ornaments in a likeness of their brand. Everyone loves a teddy bear and when you’re focusing on a children’s charity, it’s a great collectible.” We asked some of our designers why they wanted to collaborate with TSC to create these holiday ornaments in support of Jays Care.
Ron White: “I loved the creative idea of having some fun designing a bear while raising funds for the amazing work Jays Cares does for those in need. Bravo to TSC for putting together such a wonderful initiative and thank you for inviting me to take part in it.” – Ron White, Designer

Ornament Design Process
“You’ll be amazed at how the brands comes to life,” says Kate Heritage. “They’re very authentic to our brands and their ambassadors. We hope our customers love them as much as we do!” When Ron White was contemplating the design of his ornament, he thought about his Winter Collection coming to TSC.
“I thought of what I’d wear having hot chocolate with my bear after a day on the ski slopes,” says designer, Ron White. “So I came up with the idea of an ‘Après Ski Bear’. I envisioned her wearing my ‘Florina’ boot from my Ron White Winter Collection, paired with a cute set of matching knitted mittens, scarf and toque. All in chocolate brown with faux shearling trim – cozy, casual and chic.”

“We really just thought how can we make the timelessness of Elizabeth herself into a bear? So we looked at Elizabeth’s portrait from when she was 50 and included the must-haves: fedora, leopard print, her emerald and her signature red lips.” – Margot Grant Witz, VP Elizabeth Grant International
“We tried to create a design that is sophisticated yet young and visually captivating. Our Fall 2018 holiday prints and silhouettes are colourful and festive, making them perfect for the holiday season. We wanted to meld our East meets West aesthetic with a little bit of holiday whimsy. The Santa hat and splash of glitter helped bring the vision altogether.” – Ken Natori, Designer
“I chose to represent my brand and made the Jays Care Ornament a hairstylist. It represents my Diva haircare brand for all my Diva ladies out there so that they may have a little bit of Nick on their tree for the holidays.” – Sandra Chavez Hurley
“I wanted to keep the character of the bear – just slip him into something tasteful and glam – tuxbeardo! Oliver B is his name and he loves a RED bow tie. And he is as Canadian as BAILEY.” – Brian Bailey, Designer
“The bear is accessorized with my signature glasses, jewellery and shoes. We wanted to give it a MarlaWynne flair!” – Tess Giberson, Designer
“I wanted my ornament to be sleek and chic like my designs and of course with a festive accent given by the gift and top hat. He is a superstar bear ready for the red carpet or a fabulous holiday party. I came up with a palette of metallic and black as I love to decorate with metallic around Christmas time and I mix gold, silver and bronze. This ornament will fit perfectly on my tree!” – Guillaume Poupart, Designer
