Spring Fashion: The Black & White Trend

Many consider it to be fashion’s strongest style story: The sharp,  graphic contrast of black and white is forever fresh and chic, and this spring we won’t be able to get enough of it.

The white shirt—always a solid wardrobe staple—will especially be in the spotlight, and there are myriad versions of it to enjoy.  Simply coupled with black jeans, or worn under a beautifully tailored jacket, the perfect white shirt always shines.

And speaking of black jackets, there’s a corduroy blazer from Pink Tartan that ‘s sure to be one of the most coveted pieces of the season.   Or how about the little black and white tweed, tailored jacket from Tracey Moore? That’s a timeless piece you can dress up or down, and is sure to become a go-to staple in your wardrobe.  The black knit, easy-to-wear pieces from Marla Wynn’s  “Wynn Layers” label are also pretty irresistible, and the off-white vegan leather trench from Hilary Macmillan is to-die-for! Hilary’s  shiny satin double-breasted jacket, in both black and ivory, is another winner—great for those dressier evenings, or ultra cool simply worn with jeans.  Brian Bailey joins the ‘ode to black’ with his gorgeous, sleeveless georgette jumpsuit. Then there’s  Isaac Mizrahi’s black tulle skirt: Teamed with a simple little white T-shirt, it’s another piece de resistance.  Young, fresh, flirty and romantic, it’s sure to make you feel like dancing all season long!

And when it comes to footwear, you might want to rely on a great white sneaker to get you through spring, and of course a trusty black bag.  There are so many styles to choose from.

The best news is that you can never go wrong with anything black and white—in stripes, polka dots, checks or prints. And mixing those black and white solids is a real no-brainer and will invariably give you a standout, ultra chic look that’s both luxe and timeless.
