We recently sat down with Greta Culliford, TSC – Today’s Shopping Choice host to discover some fun facts, interesting tidbits and a few of her favourite TSC things!

What’s your favorite TSC moment?

I must say there have been many moments on-air where I have started to laugh and found it hard to get it together. One of those moments was while doing a show with my good friends Elizabeth Grant and Marion Witz. Elizabeth is a natural comedian and we were doing an early morning show but the Divine Miss E. was in one of her mischievous moods and kept making funny faces at me while the camera was off her and on me. I started laughing to the point where my mascara was running down my cheeks and had to exit for a moment to retrieve a tissue and try to get myself in check.

How did your mom/dad influence the person you are today?

I came from a mixed marriage. My mother was African Jamaican and my father Canadian Caucasian. At the time of their marriage there was much controversy over this type of union which of course I will never understand. My father was the quiet one but since my mother had to put up with racism when she came to North America she taught me to NEVER let anyone make you feel as though you are less than who you are because you are beautiful and strong. Never let anyone take away your power.

Which host is most likely to make you laugh?

We have some very distinct characters in the host group and all have their moments but Miss Wendy Chrystal makes me laugh without trying. She has a way of conversing that is colorful and hilarious no matter the subject.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Short and sweet – my mother always told me there will be people who like you and people who don’t like you through life. For the people who like you continue to be a good friend and be there for them. For the people who don’t like you and talk about you…it’s not your business what they think!

What’s your favorite season and why?

I love EVERYTHING about fall! The colours of fall make me happy, the air is not too chilly, the skies are beautiful and I LOVE going for drives to the country to see the fields of harvested hay sitting waiting to be picked up and stored for the winter. I get to wear sweaters and scarves and hats and also love to go to fall fairs to look for one of a kind cool items.

What were you like as a kid?

I was an incredibly introverted child most likely due to the fact that I was bullied because I am mixed race. I am rather stubborn I always fought back. Most of the time was spent drawing fashions, writing songs, reading books.

Share your beauty secrets with us. What are the must-have products in your routine?

The absolute must have products in my routine EVERY DAY are Clarisonic for cleansing which I have fallen in love with since we introduced it here at TSC over five years ago. My second fave is DermaWand which gives oxygen to the skin and helps to stimulate collagen. The third is BeautyBio GloPro which also stimulates collagen in the skin and brings out a beautiful glow. Of course I only use skin care that we sell and I have many, many favorites.

What’s your favorite room to spend time in at home?

I love to spend time in my sun room! It’s bright, full of plants and has a very large stained glass window that came from a church many years ago. It’s a room to paint in, to curl up on the sofa in the winter with the fireplace on or in the summer with the doors open to the back deck.

What do you like to do on a rainy day?

Read and Read some more! I am a bookaholic and have hundreds of books on many subjects. I read about everything. I have many books on crystals and gemstones which I refer to constantly. One of my favorite things to do is research a topic that I know nothing about.

What would your pet say about you?

My pet would say that people would be shocked at how quiet a person I am. On TV I can talk until tomorrow but my other self is extremely quiet to the extreme. True Gemini twin personality.
