Getting to know your TSC host: Anne-Marie Sweeney

Beach or pool?

Beach!!! Although I love to swim anywhere, anytime, I love to swim in oceans, lakes and rivers most of all because they’re alive. You’re immersing yourself in an all encompassing energy. And each body of water is distinctly different. You feel the currents differently, they sparkle in their own way… some you can see right into and through, others are so deep and dark it’s as if they’re full of secrets!

Flats or heels?

Both! I’d love to be able to wear heels all the time, but I can’t. Sad because heels are soooo pretty!

What’s your best fitness?

Move! All movement is good movement. If you don’t know where to start, simply walk around the block and add a block or two as you’re able. If you don’t want to join a gym, there are thousands of great workout choices online from strength training, to yoga to Pilates and more. For many of the routines you don’t need any equipment and you sure don’t need fancy workout clothes to work out at home.

Guilty pleasure food?

My mom Rosie’s famous sour cream and onion chip dip. I only indulge once a year as it is irresistible!

  • Tub of sour cream 500ml
  • Cream Cheese 250 g
  • 2 heaping tablespoons of mayo
  • Small onion finely chopped (If using as a veggie dip you might want to add salt.)

Leave the cream cheese out awhile until it’s on the soft side. Put dairy products into a bowl and mix until smooth (use a hand blender or it takes forever). Add onion, stir in evenly. Cover bowl and put in the fridge overnight. Enjoy!

Most beautiful place I’ve been?

Vienna! On my first trip there I was asking for directions and the reply was “Oh you must mean the next palace over”

There are that many palaces in the city!! The architecture is magnificent, there are numerous spectacular museums and it is a city filled with music. Many of the worlds best come to learn and to work in Vienna.

Host most likely to make me laugh?

Tanya Yanaky!! Oh how I love her sense of humour. She’s quick witted and clever and surprisingly naughty – all of that, combined with a kind heart makes her profoundly hilarious!!!

My favourite family vacation?

Jamaica for Christmas and New Year’s. Imagine yourself in a red swimsuit, paddling through turquoise waters wishing passersby in the water “Merry Christmas!” That was me!

Last gift I gave?

An extravagant bouquet of fresh flowers for a friend’s birthday.

Fave TSC moment

At the end of my first Elizabeth Grant show Marion and I were trying to do the air kiss goodbye. Marion zigged left, I zigged right, so we zigged again and I kissed her right on the lips!!! We both gasped and jumped back laughing like crazy. What a way to end a show!
