To celebrate the highly anticipated release of Disney Mary Poppins Returns, TSC will present an extraordinary two-hour event on December 14 at 7:00 p.m. ET! The no-nonsense nanny was first introduced in 1934 in the novel Mary Poppins by author P. L. Travers. Disney adapted the book for the big screen in 1964, and the film, starring the fabulous Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, became a critically acclaimed success, winning five Academy Awards®!

On December 19, the enchanting tale we know and love continues with the release of Disney Mary Poppins Returns in theatres. The story takes place in Depression-era Londonand follows a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, who, along with Michael’s threechildren, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical abilities, a spoonful of sugar, and the aid of herfriend Jack—she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing fromtheir lives.

We spoke with Heidi Daus and Danielle DiFerdinando to discover their own magical memories of Mary Poppins and the design inspiration behind their licensed Mary Poppins Returns collections.

1. Do you remember watching the original Mary Poppins movie?

Heidi: Yes. My sister’s birthday is November 21 and her party was at the movies watching the original film.

Danielle: Of course! I remember singing along and having so much fun watching the film when I was a little girl.

2. What three words would you use to describe the Mary Poppins style?

Heidi: Sensible, English and classic.

Danielle: Magical, whimsical and legendary.

3. What is your favourite snack when watching a movie?

Heidi: Popcorn and Raisinets.

Danielle: Anything sweet and salty! Popcorn mixed with peanut M&M’s and pretzels is my favourite movie snack.

4. If you were asked to style the Mary Poppins character, what pieces from your collection would you suggest?

Heidi: The Mary Poppins Sparkle Coat and My Bird Necklace and Earrings.

Danielle: I would choose the signature Mary Poppins Carpet Bag. It’s quintessential Mary Poppins—the bag that fits all!

5. Would you rather play a Disney princess or a villain? Why?

Heidi: Princess, of course! I get to dress up in beautiful costumes with gorgeous jewellery.

Danielle: A Disney princess, of course, because they are compassionate, imaginative dreamers.

6. If you could be a character in Mary Poppins, what name and role would you create for yourself?

Heidi: I would be an eccentric shop owner with piles of jewellery running Heidi’s Haberdashery Shop for Ladies and Gentlemen.

Danielle: I would create the role of Mary’s best friend, Danielle!

7. Why did you choose the colours and textures in this collection?

Heidi: After being completely inspired by Mary Poppins Returns, I thought it was important to represent the English in a refined, elegant way.

Danielle: I drew inspiration from the classic esthetic of the film. Mary Poppins has such a timeless style, and I wanted to interpret that into this collection.

8. How did you come up with the names for the pieces in the collection?

Heidi: I was inspired by the names and phrases used in the film.

Danielle: I based them on key icons that resonated with all of us from the film.

9. How do you incorporate your signature style into this collaboration?

Heidi: I was inspired by the iconic items in this film and blended those with my signature style of jewellery.

10. What elements from the classic film have you fused with your modern, on-trendstyle?

Danielle: I incorporated luxurious fabrics and rich colours to modernize the classic look and feel of the entire collection.For example, on the Mary Poppins Book Clutch, I used a pink linen with an embossed paisley print.
